Canberra Motorcycle Accident – A tragic motorcycle accident in the Snowy Mountains region has resulted in the death of a 60-year-old woman. The incident occurred on Sunday, November 3, 2024, when the rider lost control of her motorcycle on the Snowy Mountains Highway near Kiandra. According to reports, the woman was traveling approximately 2 kilometers south of Links Road at around 10:40 a.m. when her motorcycle veered off the road, plunging down a small embankment. Emergency services were quickly dispatched to the scene, with NSW Ambulance personnel providing initial treatment for her serious injuries.
Following urgent medical intervention at the site, the woman was airlifted to Canberra Hospital, where she was admitted in critical condition. Sadly, despite the efforts of medical staff, she succumbed to her injuries later that day. In response to the accident, officers from the Monaro Police District have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. They are working to determine the factors that may have contributed to the incident.
